Anonymous asked: i've had some time to think it over and while i'd still really like to hear your answer i think i have my own. it's draining to always be the constant in people's lives. it's especially hard when it's just who i am; i can't change it like flipping a switch. but i feel like that's what's happened. a switch has been thrown. from "on" to "fuck em"
that has happened to me a lot in the past but as I have started to learn to love and respect myself, I’ve also come to expect that same level of respect and appreciation from my friends. I won’t lie, quite a few people disappeared from my life as a result. a couple of them being people who had all of my love and devotion. but now. now I have friends who are true blue. and we treat each other as equals.
and don’t take their behavior personally. “Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.”-Don Miguel Ruiz
sorry if this is a bit cheesy, I hope it helps though.
